How does Riptype licensing work?
Lucky for you, all you have to do is scroll down! We tried to make it as simple and straightforward as possible, but if you have any specific questions that aren't outlined in our Terms, please reach out to info@riptype.xyz.
Does Riptype offer trial typefaces?
Absolutely! Our trial-faces are full fonts in .otf format, as we would rather you have access to the glyphs you need than needing to screen-shot our type and live-trace it in illustrator. In any case, we ask that you please respect the time and effort that we put into our fonts and purchase a full license if you like our type enough to use it in a commercial project.
Can I buy licenses on my clients' behalf?
In an ideal world, the client would purchase the correct license for the font in use. If this is too confusing for them or not possible in any way, you can buy the license and transfer it to the intended party, so long as we are informed of the final destination.
Does Riptype offer student deals?
For sure! Email us with a little bit about yourself and your project, and we will work something out.
How do I upgrade my license?
Send us an email with your receipt and the intended license you wish to upgrade to. Your previous license purchase will be credited towards the upgrade!
Can I get a refund for a purchased typeface?
We do not offer refunds, but please reach out if there are any issues with our fonts and we will do our best to resolve the problem.

Where is Riptype based?
Riptype is based out of Montreal and Brooklyn. We hope to (one day) be based out of a physical studio, but for the time being we are both working remotely from our respective cities.
